Liberian state broadcaster LNTV has acquired free-to-air rights for the 2014 Fifa World Cup national football team tournament, according to the Inquirer newspaper.
The deal was struck on behalf of LNTV by Liberia Broadcasting System, the country’s public-service radio station.
Liberia Broadcasting System acquired the rights from pan-regional broadcaster consortium the Africa Union of Broadcasters, which has been distributing the rights for the World Cup in sub-Saharan Africa, apart from in Nigeria and South Africa.
Pay-television broadcaster SuperSport also has rights for the World Cup in the country.
