MUTV, the in-house pay-television channel operated by English Premier League club Manchester United, has signed distribution deals with Norwegian commercial broadcaster TV2, Icelandic media group 365 and pay-television broadcaster SkyNet in Myanmar.
Terms of the deals were undisclosed, but the agreements with SkyNet and TV2 represent the first time MUTV programming will be broadcast to the club’s fans in Myanmar and Norway.
In Iceland, 365 already broadcasts MUTV content via its Stöð 2 Sport pay-television channel. The extension of 365’s partnership with United will allow the channel to continue showing MUTV footage to the club’s Icelandic followers for the next two years, from 2013-14 to 2014-15.
United commercial director Richard Arnold said: “The new agreements mean that MUTV now has 22 international broadcast partners, covering 56 territories worldwide including parts of Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa.”
