Manchester City claims first with India-focused partnership

English Premier League football club Manchester City has entered into a partnership with Indian digital media company Veqta.

Under the agreement, which the club claims is the first such deal for a Premier League team, subscribers to Veqta’s new OTT sports platform in India will receive access to exclusive Manchester City content.

The content will include behind-the-scenes coverage of training sessions, player and manager interviews, and the club’s ‘Inside City’ and ‘Global City Fans’ video series.

Veqta launched its OTT sports service in June. As well as football, the service features other sports including cricket, motorsports, Olympic sports and tennis. The service is available as a mobile application on Android and iOS devices.

Vikram Tanwar, co-founder and director of Veqta, said: “Football is the second largest and the fastest growing sport in India. Through this partnership, football fans in India will have a truly global sports experience for the very first time.”
