New Russian sports television platform Match TV has acquired rights to the Bundesliga, the top division of club football in Germany.
The sports.ru website said the agreement was reached ahead of the launch of Match TV yesterday (Sunday).
The news means that Match TV, along with pay-television broadcaster NTV Plus, will offer coverage of the Bundesliga, along with the English Premier League, Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1.
Match TV, which is backed by Russian media group Gazprom Media Holding, commenced broadcasting on a free-to-air basis on November 1.
