Spanish agency Mediapro will launch a new free-to-air sports channel on digital-terrestrial television in the country.
Mediapro secured the channel slot in a deal with the Unidad Editorial media company.
Further details of the channel were not disclosed, but the launch will require the approval of Spain’s Ministry of Industry.
The value of the licence agreement has not been disclosed, but Spanish news service El Confidencial said it could be worth up to €3.5m ($3.9m) per year.
