The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y La Competencia (CNMC), Spain’s competition regulator, has ruled that LaLiga must provide a 90-second summary of every game from the top division of domestic football and allow free access to stadiums for broadcasters.
Spanish commercial broadcaster Mediaset has hit out at LaLiga’s decision to assign exclusive free-to-air highlights for the top division of Spanish football and the Copa del Rey to public-service broadcaster TVE.
Telcos Orange and Vodafone have become the first two operators in the Spanish market to sublicense LaLiga content in the 2015-16 season from rival firm Telefónica, while public-service broadcaster TVE has agreed a deal for highlights rights.
