Chilean general-entertainment channel Mega has acquired domestic and international rights for Chile national team football games, including qualifying matches for the 2018 Fifa World Cup and friendly fixtures.
The deal, agreed with the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, football’s governing body in the country, is worth $106 million (€81.5 million), according to the La Tercera news website.
The deal will run for the four years from 2014-15 to 2017-18. The rights include domestic and international coverage on all platforms.
Mega will replace commercial channel Chilevisión as the rights-holder of national team games.
