MP & Silva will distribute the global rights to Miami FC matches after the agency’s president and founder, Riccardo Silva, teamed up with Italian football legend Paolo Maldini to form the new North American Soccer League team.
The ownership group for Miami FC includes Silva and Maldini (pictured left to right), along with a group of international investors lead by sports and media investor Antonio Barreto, who will serve as chief executive of the club. Miami FC becomes the 12th member of the NASL, football’s second tier competition in North America, and will launch in 2016.
Miami FC said Silva and MP & Silva will bring “synergy, added value and exposure” to the franchise by distributing its games worldwide through an estimated 50 television channels covering more than 150 countries.
In addition, the MP & Silva group will be a shareholder of Miami FC.
