North America’s Major League Soccer has signed a wide-ranging streaming partnership with social media company Twitter.
The three-year deal grants Twitter rights to live, on-demand content each week. Live matches, highlights and features will be made available via the @MLS and @FutbolMLS Twitter handles.
Twitter will also work with MLS on initiatives to support the league’s major events during the season.
Matches are being made available in the US through the @UnivisionSports and @MLS handles. The first match to be streamed was Real Salt Lake City’s 5-1 home defeat to Los Angeles FC on Saturday.
Advertising packages relating to Twitter’s MLS coverage will be made available for sponsors.
