MotoGP’s commercial and television rights holder Dorna Sports will produce the motorcycling series’ first live ultra-high definition broadcast during this weekend’s San Marino Grand Prix.
Dorna Sports is undertaking the 4K initiative in partnership with Eurovision, the television producer operated by the European Broadcasting Union, production company I-Movix, pay-television broadcaster Sky Italia, technology firm Grass Valley, camera company Fujifilm and communications equipment manufacturer One Technology.
The MotoGP 4K Live Showcase will run during the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam on September 12, during the first day of action at the San Marino GP.
The broadcast will operate from 9am to 6pm, featuring live footage from pitlane and paddock cameras and recorded on-track footage.
