Suhyeon Cho is to step down as chief commercial officer of the MP & Silva agency just four months after being appointed to the role.
Cho (pictured) cited personal reasons for his decision to resign. He will leave his position next month.
Cho joined the agency in 2008 and had been promoted from the position of managing director, Japan and Korea. In his previous role, he was responsible for distributing football rights, including those covering the English Premier League, Italian Serie A and German Bundesliga.
“Despite having recently been appointed as chief commercial officer, I quickly realised that this role was not right for me, and for personal reasons I have decided to leave the position,” Cho said. “I wanted to act immediately and to reach a quick transition that would work best for MP & Silva. I look forward to continuing to being a supporter and advocate for the valuable contribution the agency makes to the sports industry in the future.”
MP & Silva chief executive Jochen Lösch added: “I want to thank Cho for his hard and very successful work over the past 10 years at this company, and I wish him the very best for the future. It has been a pleasure to work with Cho, who has made a very important contribution to the growth of MP & Silva. His departure will leave behind a big gap, both professionally and personally. Luckily for MP & Silva we will be able to keep Cho for certain projects in Japan and Korea.”
