The MP & Silva agency has acquired media rights to LaLiga, the top division of Spanish football, across a host of European markets and Japan.
MP & Silva said it will exclusively distribute LaLiga rights in Scandinavia and Finland, as well as Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Japan.
The contract includes television rights across cable, satellite and terrestrial, internet TV, IPTV and mobile devices. The agreement covers all LaLiga matches, as well as archive footage and promotional clips.
“Our deep understanding of the property and market dynamics will make sure we maximise the Spanish league’s exposure and awareness worldwide,” Roberto Dalmiglio, chief commercial officer of MP & Silva, said. “We are therefore delighted to be expanding and strengthening our relationship with LaLiga in Europe and Asia where we have vast experience and local market expertise through our offices and people.”
Terms of the deal were undisclosed, but the Mediapro agency, which markets LaLiga’s overseas rights, is agreeing three-season deals in Europe for competition reasons, and deals for up to five seasons elsewhere.
