The NBC Sports Group division of US media company NBCUniversal has retained the Vuelta a España and Tour Down Under in its cycling portfolio by striking extended rights deals for the events.
The deals have been struck with the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and run through to the end of 2023.
As part of the agreement, which begins this August, NBC Sports Group will continue as the exclusive US television and live streaming home for the Vuelta, one of cycling’s three ‘Grand Tour’ events.
Both the Vuelta and Tour Down Under will be offered on the 2017-18 Cycling Pass on NBC Sports Gold – NBC Sports Digital’s direct-to-consumer live streaming product.
In addition to the Vuelta a España, NBC Sports Group is the home of the Tour de France through 2023. NBC Sports Group also presents several other ASO cycling properties, including Paris Nice, Criterium du Dauphine, Paris Roubaix, Fleche Wallonne, and Liége Bastogne Liége.
