The NBC Sports division of US media company NBCUniversal has acquired rights for the Bayou Classic American football college game.
The rights for the Thanksgiving weekend game will run for three years, from 2013 to 2015.
The broadcaster agreed the deal with the Southern University System and Grambling State University, which co-operate the game.
NBC Sports has shown the annual match for the past 23 years.
NBC has also confirmed that NBC Sports Live Extra, its live streaming service, is now available via the TV Everywhere internet television initiative to customers of the Cablevision, Comcast Xfinity TV, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS IPTV platforms. TV Everywhere offers pay-television subscribers the opportunity to register their subscriptions online so they can access pay-television content over the internet as well as via cable or satellite television at no extra charge.
