US media company NBCUniversal has struck a multi-year extension to its media rights deal with the WWE wrestling organisation.
The WWE’s Monday Night Raw property will continue to be broadcast in a three-hour slot by NBCU’s Syfy pay-television channel.
NBCU’s USA Network pay-television channel will also continue to broadcast the WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown programme.
WWE and NBCU had previously been unable to agree a rights extension during an exclusive negotiating window, which ended on February 15. Under the previous deal, Syfy and USA Network were due to continue to broadcast the shows until September 30.
