The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will work with Japanese public-service broadcaster NHK to produce an official documentary film for next year’s Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
The documentary will be broadcast by NHK and then released as an official film record of the Games both in Japan and overseas.
NHK and the IPC will co-produce the documentary in close collaboration with the Tokyo organising committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
NHK has broadcast the Paralympics since 1964. In June 2015, it signed a new long-term deal for exclusive rights to four editions of the Games from 2018 to 2024 in an agreement the IPC hailed as the biggest in Paralympic broadcasting history.
NHK plans to provide the most comprehensive broadcasting campaign ever delivered by a broadcaster from the host country during the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, which will take place from August 25 to September 6.
