US sports-focused streaming service fuboTV has added NHL Network, MLB Network and MLB Strike Zone to its offering.
The additions bolster fuboTV’s major-league line-up, which already includes NBA TV and NFL Network (and NFL Red Zone). NHL Network and MLB Network will be made available to fuboTV customers with a fuboTV Extra or Sports Plus subscription.
MLB Network is Major League Baseball’s pay-television service and provides live coverage of up to 150 games a year. The MLB Strike Zone channel, which is distributed on the network and offers highlights and updates from games, will be available to fuboTV ‘Sports Plus’ subscribers.
NHL Network operates as a joint venture between the North American ice hockey league and US media giant NBCUniversal. It shows a number of live games per week, along with shows such as NHL Now and NHL Tonight.
FuboTV, which initially launched as a football streaming service, has grown to cover a number of sports. Its current offering includes content from the likes of Fox, NBC and CBS. Its base package costs $55 (€49) per month, with the ‘Extra’ package priced at $5.99 per month and Sports Plus priced at $10.99 per month.
At the start of the year, fuboTV dropped Fox’s 22 regional sports networks amid rising licensing costs. The platform also dropped FX, FXX, FXM and National Geographic, although continued to offer the Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 channels, ensuring its NFL coverage.
