Australian commercial broadcaster Nine Network has opted to show full coverage of the forthcoming Ashes Test cricket series between England and Australia on its free-to-air digital television multi-channel GEM, according to the Australian newspaper.
In confirming its scheduling plans, Nine said that its primary channel would broadcast coverage of individual sessions, but GEM would show live coverage of all of the action to take place in England, starting next week.
The five-Test Ashes series, which begins in England on July 10, is part of Nine’s rights deal with the Cricket Australia national governing body. Nine will also provide live coverage of the return series in Australia, starting on November 21.
