Greek telecommunications company Forthnet, owner of pay-television broadcaster Nova, has widened the reach of its Novasports platform by agreeing carriage deals with telcos Wind Hellas and Vodafone.
Under the agreements, Vodafone TV and Wind’s soon-to-be-launched IPTV pay-television platform will carry the seven Novasports channels.
Vodafone has said it will launch a new television package, Vodafone TV Sports +, to carry the new content and had claimed to be the first company to strike a wholesale sports content agreement in the Greek market before the Wind agreement was struck.
Novasports offers a raft of leading sporting content including the Superleague, the top division of domestic football, and club basketball’s Euroleague and Champions League competitions.
Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
