One Championship chairman and chief executive, Chatri Sityodtong, has said the Asian mixed martial arts promotion is targeting partnerships with telcos across the world following the launch of its new live streaming app.
One unveiled further details behind the One Super App yesterday (Monday) at the launch event for its One: Unstoppable Dreams event in Singapore.
Friday’s event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will be live streamed for free via the new app, which is now available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.
The app aims to provide millions of martial arts fans around the world with access to every One Championship live event, as well as the complete library of digital content – all for free. Content will stream in full HD and the app will also provide users with statistical information and a detailed background on their favourite fighters.
One currently holds partnerships for the app with five telcos across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia’s Telkomsel.
“We have announced five, including Telkomsel, and those were just the very beginning,” Sityodtong said, according to Indonesian newspaper the Jakarta Globe. “We are aiming to be present in each country. We will also have further announcements to make in the future.”
He added: “Eighty per cent of our audience are comprised of millennials. Their first option in consuming content is on the mobile phone. I want to showcase this with much appreciation: free fights and free action for them.”
