Digital sports media company Perform Group has extended a rights deal with the British Basketball League domestic club competition.
The six-season deal runs from 2016-17 to 2021-22.
Perform will manage the broadcast and digital rights for all BBL games, including exclusive streaming and data rights for the media company’s Watch&Bet and RunningBall products.
Perform will stream live coverage of all 242 games in the 2016-17 season via its Watch&Bet service. A selection of matches will also be streamed direct to from Perform-owned platform LiveBasketball.TV.
Bob Hope, commercial director of the BBL, said: “This partnership with Perform Group is an absolute game changer for the BBL and the sport of basketball in the UK. It represents a massive investment in the sport, and it will allow games in the BBL to be streamed to a worldwide audience.”
