Perform revenue rockets

Digital sports media company Perform Group has reported a 37-per-cent year-on-year increase in revenue, from £67.4m (€78.9m/$105.7m) to £92.4m, for the six months until the end of June 2013.

Perform’s adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation also increased by 27 per cent to £15.6m, while the company’s adjusted profit after tax rose by 28 per cent from £8.6m to £11m.

Perform also said that it had made “good progress” on talks to renew licensee deals for its Watch&Bet live streaming service. At the end of June 2013, there were 44 Watch&Bet licensees – up from 40 at the same point the previous year, and in the six months through to the end of June there were 8,022 live Watch&Bet events streamed, representing a 14-per-cent rise.

Perform said that discussions had taken place with the majority of existing Watch&Bet clients and 20 potential new clients, and the number of licensees per territory has been increased to eight.
