Golf’s PGA Tour has agreed a deal to become the latest equity partner of 120 Sports, the new all-digital sports network of US media group Time.
The PGA Tour joins Time Inc/Sports Illustrated, Major League Baseball’s MLB.com, the National Hockey League and Campus Insiders – a joint venture between the IMG College division of the IMG agency and digital sports media company Silver Chalice – in becoming an equity partner in the league and media property owned venture.
Content from the aforementioned partners, the National Basketball Association and North American stock car series Nascar will help to comprise 120 Sports’ offering of sports news and highlights integrated with real-time social media conversation in two-minute, video-driven segments.
The new platform launched on Wednesday evening.
