Polish commercial and pay-television broadcaster Polsat has secured licences for the launch of two new sports channels in the country.
The Polsat Sport 2 and Polsat Sport 3 channels secured licences, along with the Polsat Docu, Polsat Reality and Polsat X channels.
According to the Wirtualne Media news website, the licences awarded by Poland’s National Broadcasting Council, the KRRiT, will run for 10 years, from 2016 to 2025.
All of the channels are expected to launch next year.
Polsat is a major broadcaster of sport in the country, with rights to the ATP World Tour men’s tennis circuit and a series of European Volleyball Confederation properties.
