Telecommunications company Portugal Telecom has agreed to acquire a stake in domestic pay-television broadcaster Sport TV.
The size of the stake has not been disclosed and the deal is subject to due diligence.
Last week, Vodafone Portugal sealed an agreement to snap up a stake in Sport TV, becoming a shareholder alongside rival telco Nos and the Olivedesportos agency.
The deal will give Portugal Telecom’s Meo platform access to Sport TV’s content. Sport TV shows the top tier of Portuguese football, the Primeira Liga.
