Premier League launches rights sales in Asia and Australasia

English football’s Premier League has issued an invitation to tender for its next cycle of live audiovisual rights in Asia and Australasia.

The rights on offer cover the three seasons from 2013-14 to 2015-16.

The league has split the region into 16 broadcast territories for the tender, with four of those territories covering multiple countries.

India has been placed in the same broadcast territory as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while Thailand, Cambodia and Laos have also been grouped together. Indonesia and East Timor have been placed in the same broadcast territory by the league, as have Malaysia and Brunei.

The other individual territories in the tender are: Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, North Korea, Pacific Islands, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Interested parties have been invited to contact the Premier League to receive a copy of the tender document. No deadline for bids was disclosed.
