Premier League opens tender process for rights in Americas

The English Premier League, the country’s top football division, has launched an invitation to tender for its live broadcast rights in the Americas for three seasons, from 2013-14 to 2015-16.

The rights available include the individual broadcast territories of the US, Canada, South and Central America, the Caribbean and Brazil.

The Premier League is currently engaged in the process of marketing its international rights after signing a new domestic live rights deal in June with pay-television broadcaster BSkyB and telecommunications company BT worth a combined £3.018 billion (€3.72 billion/$4.87 billion) over three years, from 2013-14 to 2015-16, marking a 70-per-cent increase on the previous cycle.
