State-owned broadcaster S Media has extended rights deals in Myanmar to show the Uefa Champions League and Europa League European club football competitions.
The deals will run for three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18, and represent the first such rights awarded in Asia covering the new cycle.
S Media will show all Champions League matches live as well as highlights across the seven S Media Skynet Sports channels and free-to-air channel MNTV. With the Europa League, S Media will broadcast eight matches live per kick-off slot plus highlights on the same channels.
The platform-neutral rights also include coverage of four editions of the annual Super Cup match between the winners of the previous year’s Champions League and Europa League, from 2015 to 2018.
The Team Marketing agency brokered the deal on behalf of Uefa, football’s European governing body.
