Australian public-service broadcaster SBS and pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports will acquire rights for the ANZ Championship, the top netball division in Australia and New Zealand, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The broadcasters will share coverage of the tournament as part of a “multi-year” rights deal that will be announced before the start of the 2013 season on Sunday, March 24, the report said.
Under the agreement with the Netball Australia and Netball New Zealand governing bodies, which organise the championship, SBS will show one game live every Sunday plus highlights programmes throughout the season.
Fox Sports will broadcast two games live on the opening day of the season on its Fox Sports 3 channel, but further details have not been disclosed.
Commercial broadcaster Ten had the rights for the championship in a four-year deal, from 2009 to 2012.
