Irish pay-television broadcaster Setanta Sports has agreed a four-year rights deal with the Football Association of Ireland which includes exclusive live rights to the national team’s home friendly games.
The agreement will commence with next Wednesday’s match against Oman, followed by Ireland’s games against the USA in November and England in June.
Under the terms of the deal, Setanta will also show 16 live senior women and Under-21 matches over the next four years and will become sponsor of the FAI’s Emerging Talent Programme.
Setanta Sports has broadcast Ireland friendlies before, but this is the first long term deal for the company to show home friendlies.
