Australian commercial broadcaster Seven has acquired rights to UK horseracing showpiece Royal Ascot.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it will take effect from this year’s edition, which is due to run from June 16-20.
Seven’s agreement delivers free-to-air coverage and expands beyond television to Seven’s digital platforms, including online and mobile, and hybrid broadband broadcast television. Seven will broadcast the last three days of Royal Ascot 2015.
Seven’s horseracing portfolio currently includes the Sydney Easter Carnival, the Melbourne Spring Carnival and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
