Australian commercial broadcaster Seven has said it has no plans to switch coverage of the ongoing Rugby League World Cup national team tournament to its main channel despite complaints from some people who have been unable to watch the action.
The bulk of Seven’s coverage of the tournament has been provided on digital-terrestrial channel 7mate, which is only available to households with high-definition access, according to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper.
“7mate, One and Gem are not available on all forms of Foxtel delivery,” a Seven spokesperson said. “This is beyond the control of the free-to-air television networks. It is unfortunate but it's a Foxtel business decision.”
