Pay-television operator Singtel has broadened its football portfolio in Singapore by acquiring broadcast rights to the Copa América Centenario national team tournament, which is being hosted by the United States later this year.
The competition will run from June 3-26 and Singtel customers who sign-up for or renew their Trio, Variety or Value packs for 24 months will get the Copa America, in addition to the Uefa Euro 2016 tournament, at no additional charge. This also applies to customers who have an on-going contract.
These customers will also be able to watch all matches from the two tournaments, as well as replays of games, for free on the Singtel TV Go app.
Customers who sign-up or renew their mio Stadium+ pack for 24 months, including those on the cable television platform, will be able to watch matches of both tournaments via Singtel TV Go.
Singtel last week agreed a carriage deal with international sports broadcaster Eleven Sports Network, the exclusive Euro 2016 rights holder in Singapore. Eleven will broadcast all 51 matches from Euro 2016, which takes place in France from June 10 to July 10, on specially dedicated channels.
