Singaporean telecommunications companies Singtel and StarHub have acquired rights for the Uefa Champions League and Europa League European club football tournaments.
The rights were acquired in sublicensing deals with international sports broadcaster Eurosport and also include coverage of the Uefa Super Cup season-opening match.
The deals will cover television and digital platforms and run until at least the end of the 2015-16 season.
The agreements will ensure that coverage of the two tournaments will be shown on both major pay-television broadcasters in Singapore for the first time since 2009. Singtel had exclusive rights for both competitions for seven seasons before Eurosport pounced with a deal running for three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
