German pay-television broadcaster Sky Deutschland has said it has no interest in acquiring rights to the world championship fights of reigning heavyweight world champion, Wladimir Klitschko.
German rights for the Ukrainian WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine title-holder are currently on the market after commercial broadcaster RTL’s deal expired following his points win over American Bryant Jennings on April 25.
Sky broadcast the May 2 world welterweight clash between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr on a pay-per-view basis via its Sky Select service.
However, speaking at the Sponsors Sports Media Summit in Cologne, Sky chief executive Carsten Schmidt said: “We will have no ambitions regarding a stronger entry in boxing.”
