UK pay-television broadcaster Sky and international sports broadcaster Eurosport have acquired rights to this year’s edition of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe horse racing event.
Sky will dedicate a three-hour programme to the event, which takes place on October 2 at the Chantilly Racecourse in France. The coverage will be shown on the Sky Sports 2 channel from 2.15pm to 5.30pm, with the race itself due to begin at 3.05pm.
Eurosport will run a 20-minute highlights programme in the UK from 4.30pm.
Earlier this month, commercial broadcaster Channel 4 opted to drop its coverage of the event, citing an escalated rights fee. Channel 4 took over coverage of the Arc in 2013, having also broadcast the meeting between 1986 and 1995 and then again in 2001.
Pay-television channels At The Races and Racing UK had already secured rights to the event.
