Pay-TV broadcaster Sky Italia has announced the appointment of Gabriella Vacca as its chief technology officer.
Vacca joins from the Sky group’s parent company Comcast, where she has been serving as vice-president, enterprise technology since December 2016. She has been with Comcast in various roles since early 2010, based out of its corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.
Vacca is set to relocate from the US to Milan for the new role at Sky Italia, where she will report directly to Sky Italia chief executive Maximo Ibarra. She will also retain responsibility for enterprise technology, reporting in this role to Sky group chief technology officer Mohamed Hammady.
Of Vacca’s appointment, Ibarra said: “The global vision, the pragmatic approach and the attention to people are among the distinctive traits of Gabriella Vacca. Before joining Comcast, Vacca worked in digital technology-related roles with the likes of AT&T and ESPN.
