Chinese digital platform Sohu has acquired rights for the World Rallycross Championship.
TRS Cultural Communications Company struck the deal on behalf of Sohu with the IMG agency.
The deal represents the first time that Chinese viewers will be able to watch live, free-to-air coverage of the championship.
The agreement will run until at least the end of the 2018 campaign.
The coverage will begin with this weekend’s race in Belgium. Sohu will provide live coverage via the TV.sohu.com and Sohu Sports Live platforms.
The Canadian and US rounds will be delayed to accommodate local time zones.
China’s first driver in the championship, Ma Qinghua, will make his debut for Speedmachine in a Stard Ford Fiesta at the World RX of Great Britain at Silverstone from May 25-27.
