Spanish competition body opens broadcast rights probe against RFEF

The Comisión de los Mercados y La Competencia (CNMC), Spain’s competition watchdog, has launched disciplinary proceedings against the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in relation to potential anti-competitive practices concerning the marketing of broadcast rights to the Segunda División B and Tercera División leagues.

The two competitions represent the third and fourth tiers of Spanish club football, with the CNMC taking action after a complaint lodged by ProLiga, the body which represents 250 non-professional clubs that compete in these competitions.
