Sport 24 deal enables travellers to keep on top of Lions tour

IMG Media has announced that Sport 24, the agency’s television channel for the airline and cruise line industry, will broadcast every match live from the British & Irish Lions’ rugby union tour of Australia.

Sport 24 will show nine matches live from the British Lions tour, including all three Test matches against Australia on June 22, 29 and July 6. The agreement commenced with today’s game against the Emirates Western Force.

In addition to the Tests and today’s game, viewers will also see the Lions in action against the St. George Queensland Reds (June 8), Combined NSW-Queensland Country (June 11), HSBC Waratahs (June 15), ACT Brumbies (June 18) and RaboDirect Rebels (June 25).

Greg Peters, chief executive of the umbrella body of Australian, South African and New Zealand rugby, Sanzar, said: “This is a first for rugby union as never before have travellers been able to watch live games in this manner.”
