Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV has acquired rights to the Copa América Centenario, the special edition of the national team football tournament which is being hosted by the United States next month.
Sport TV will televise all 32 games from the 2016 tournament, which will run from June 3-26. Host nation the United States will commence the Copa América Centenario with a match against Colombia at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Copa América Centenario rights will complement Sport TV’s coverage of Uefa Euro 2016.
Sport TV acquired the rights in a sublicensing deal struck with public-service broadcaster RTP earlier this month. Under the agreement, Sport TV will broadcast 51 games during the tournament in France, 27 of which will be exclusive.
