German sports broadcaster Sport1 has acquired rights to the 2014 Women’s Volleyball World Championships, which take place in Italy from September 23 to October 12.
Sport1 has acquired the platform-neutral rights to the championships for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland from the IMG Media agency.
Under the terms of the deal, Sport1 will broadcast all of Germany’s games at the event and provide live coverage of some 15 games in total on free-to-air television.
In addition, Sport1 and IMG Media have also agreed a deal for rights to the Berlin Grand Slam event, which takes place from June 17-22.
Sport1 and the Sport1.de website will show live action and highlights from the men’s and women’s finals on June 21-22.
