Sports and betting-related services company Sportradar has signed up its latest partner for its new over-the-top product by agreeing a multi-year deal with Italian DTT sports broadcaster Sportitalia.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sportitalia will provide all the content, while Sportradar will provide the streaming platform and technical solution that will power the channel’s 24/7 online streaming site as well as making Sportitalia’s shows available on demand.
After the European Handball Federation – with whom Sportradar announced a partnership last month – Sportitalia is Sportradar’s next customer for the Sportradar OTT service.
Sportradar OTT is a customisable OTT platform provided to rights holders free of charge with the rightsholder providing content and Sportradar providing the technical platform, monetisation and marketing expertise.
Sportradar’s managing director for OTT, Rainer Geier, said: “The momentum we have had since launching our OTT solution just this month with the European Handball Federation, then agreeing to provide the German professional football team Eintracht Braunschweig with their own club TV platform and now rolling out this Sportitalia partnership – it has been so exciting.
“To see that our solution can work for federations, clubs and existing broadcasters has highlighted its versatility and has vindicated our careful strategising.”
