US media company Time has launched a new network of channels and digital platforms for its flagship magazine, Sports Illustrated, in partnership with pan-Asian sports broadcaster ASN.
Under the project, first announced in February, the Hong Kong-based ASN and ASN2 pay-television sports channels have been rebranded as Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated 2. Accompanying websites and mobile applications have also changed their names in line with the new brands.
Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated 2 will feature live broadcasts of sports events and original video programming from Sports Illustrated Group brands such as Sports Illustrated Kids, Golf and FanSided.
The rebranded channels will be made available on 20 pay-television operators in 12 countries across Asia.
At the time of the original announcement, Time said that the programming would feature sports leagues and events such as American football’s NFL Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup NHL ice hockey finals.
