UK sports production and media company Sunset+Vine has agreed a wide-ranging social media content partnership with Marylebone Cricket Club that includes management of the Lord’s Cricket Ground channel on video-sharing platform YouTube.
Sunset+Vine will create new content several times a week, using a mixture of newly shot footage combined with its access to MCC’s extensive archive. YouTube specialist digital agency Diagonal View has been brought in by Sunset+Vine to handle channel management and optimisation requirements.
Among the new content was footage from a GoPro camera attached to the Australian great Adam Gilchrist’s batting helmet when he faced fast bowler Shaun Tait during the recent MCC versus Rest of the World match at Lord’s. The clip so far has 315,000 views and more than 250,000 minutes watched.
Additionally, Sunset+Vine will manage Lord’s social media activity across its Facebook and Twitter feeds. The two parties have collaborated over social media output since June 1 and all platforms have experienced a significant increase in traffic during this soft launch period.
