Telefónica has struck a deal with pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport for coverage of the French Open tennis tournament on the telecommunications company’s IPTV platform Movistar TV in Spain.
The carriage deal will run for the next four editions of the event, from 2014 to 2017.
Movistar TV will provide programming shown via the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels.
According to the Rapid TV News website, Movistar TV will also offer coverage of the tournament via its multi-screen platform Go, which is available on tablets, personal computers and smartphones.
