François Pellissier, the director of sports at French commercial broadcaster TF1, has said that its Sunday morning Téléfoot programme will only be able to show clips of goals from the previous weekend of action from January 1.
Téléfoot will not be able to show action from games until at least 24 hours after they have initially been broadcast under new rules that are being introduced on New Year’s Day by the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel, the country’s media regulator.
Téléfoot has traditionally shown clips of matches from Ligue 1, football’s top division in France.
“For Ligue 1, we will have the right to show the goals of the day, but only those of the previous week,” Pellissier said.
