Moldovan public-service broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova has launched a new television channel to accommodate an increase in sports coverage.
The channel, entitled Moldova 2, began broadcasting yesterday (Tuesday) with Teleradio-Moldova making the decision to expand ahead of a busy summer of sport.
Teleradio-Moldova has acquired exclusive rights to national team football tournament Uefa Euro 2016 and will also broadcast the summer Olympic Games from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Teleradio-Moldova has launched Moldova 2 in the belief it would struggle to cover the events solely on its existing Moldova 1 channel.
