Televisa snaps up NBA rights in Mexico

Mexican media company Televisa has acquired rights for the NBA North American basketball league.

The deal will begin with coverage of the 2015-16 Finals series, from June 2, and will run for a further two seasons, 2016-17 and 2017-18.

The rights will be exploited on the Televisa Deportes channel as well as via other Televisa platforms, including the TelevisaDeportes.com website.

Televisa plans to show at least one game per month on free-to-air television, with other fixtures being available via pay-television.

The deal includes regular NBA magazine programming.
