After last week’s reports, Network Ten has today confirmed the five-year deal for the four-day Melbourne Cup Carnival, paying A$20m per year.
The fee is to be paid in cash and contra and will run from 2019 to 2023. The deal covers all rights excluding live streaming on betting platforms.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Ten’s winning bid was significantly higher than incumbent broadcaster Seven’s.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival includes AAMI Victoria Derby Day, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, Kennedy Oaks Day and Seppelt Wines Stakes Day.
